To preface this first blog of 2022, I want to alert you to the meaning of a Catch-22 in 2022!
Did you know this term was created by author Joseph Heller , who discussed this idea in his 1961 novel. The meaning we all understand ‘Catch-22’ as is a dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions.. In Heller’s novel , actually called ‘Catch-22’, World War II pilots are caught in a catch-22 trying to get out of war time service. You can read more about the plot on Wiki.
The common meaning of Catch-22 however can apply to today’s world. In fact, my feeling of the Catch-22 is COVID-22. To move forward in this life is to admit that COVID is the Catch-22 hanging over our heads in 2022 and forever if we let it. Mandates suck and deplete business, I agree with that. But, having just gone through at least three days of a positive diagnosis it all makes sense.
At this point COVID is no longer 2019 it’s now 2022. It’s gotta end here. Feeling In a Catch-22 about the vaccine? Snap out of it. In a catch-22 about masking up? Mask up and just end this thing. No, it’s not a liberal mainstream puppet talking . This is a human writing that is tired of the idea that some don’t think this is real or real enough to combat.
We collectively must not let COVID-22 torch 2022. Don’t just google a testing site, take action!
